Wicked Ridge Rampage 360 Crossbow Review

Today I’ll be reviewing the Wicked Ridge Rampage 360; a beginner crossbow with a built-in cocking device, insane accuracy and shoots arrows at 360 feet per second!

Wicked Ridge/TenPoint claims the Rampage 360 is the “premiere entry-level crossbow with a built-in cocking device that allows you to effortlessly and accurately cock your crossbow.” If you don’t already know, TenPoint and Wicked Ridge are the leading crossbow brands with crank-cocking devices.

It took us a while to get our hands on the Rampage 360 for a review and I’m very excited to bring this crossbow out to the range and see what it has to offer!

First Impressions / Size and Weight

Any Wicked Ridge model so far that we have tested has been a durable looking crossbow. The Rampage 360 isn’t a different story. It looks very durable. Currently, it’s only available in the “Peak” camo design. We all use camo designs on most, if not all, of our hunting gear, so why shouldn’t we use it on our crossbows? Although I do think that entirely black crossbows are great looking as well.

Without the foot-stirrup the Rampage 360 weighs only 6 pounds with accessories and measures 35.5 inches in length, including the foot-stirrup it’s around 39 inches long.

Wicked Ridge equipped the Rampage 360 with Gordon Glass Limbs. These limbs are made from “continuous fiber reinforced thermoset composite materials.” This creates a lightweight but very durable limb system. At 19 inches wide uncocked and 15 inches wide when cocked, it’s also a pretty compact and lightweight beginner crossbow.

Arrows and Speed

Wicked Ridge speed-rated the Rampage 360 at 360 feet per second with a draw weight of about 175 pounds. They speed-tested the crossbow with 2 different arrow weights. First is the Pro Lite Carbon arrow from TenPoint that weighs 370-grains and second speed-test was done with Wicked Ridge’s XX75 Aluminum arrows that weighs 435-grains. Unfortunately, this package doesn’t include arrows, field-tips or broadheads. You’ll have to buy some arrows and broadheads separately. I recommend to just stick with Wicked Ridge’s recommendation as they use Alpha-Nocks on their arrows and if you don’t shoot arrows with Alpha-Nocks, you’ll void your warranty!

This package does include a 3-arrow instant detach quiver. It’s a basic lightweight quiver with a rubber loop that you can silently hang in your tree-stand or blinds.

Optics

Wicked Ridge equipped the Rampage 360 with TenPoint’s 3x Multi-Line Scope. It’s not a new scope, Wicked Ridge features this scope on the M370, Ranger X2 and RDX 400 for example.

It’s a well-designed scope with a clear view. This scope comes pre-sighted by TenPoint and has aiming points for 20 to 50 yards with 10-yard increments.

Cocking

I picked the Rampage 360 with the ACUdraw cocking device. I’ve used it before on other models from Wicked Ridge and TenPoint and I just absolutely love it. This ACUdraw crank-cocking device reduces the draw weight to only 5-pounds and is built into the butt of the stock!

It’s also compatible with the ACUdraw 50. This is a rope cocker that’s also built into the butt of the stock. This rope-cocking device reduces the draw-weight by about 50%. It works similar to the ACU-52 that’s been equipped on the Ranger X2 from Wicked Ridge as well.

By using any of the 2 compatible built-in cocking devices, it’s also a very well-balanced crossbow.

Trigger and Safety Features

Wicked Ridge equipped the Rampage 360 with a T4 Trigger. This is an older trigger model from TenPoint that has a bit more creep than their newer T5 trigger. The T4 trigger is still a very good trigger with a 3.5-pound pull.

This T4 trigger comes with auto-engaging safety features and a built-in Dry Fire Inhibitor.

Assembly and Sighting-In

As most of Wicked Ridge’s crossbows, the Rampage 360 also requires a “1-Bolt assembly” by the user. It should be very simple to assemble, even for beginners. It’s a 10-minute assembly at most.

To assemble the crossbow correctly, always make sure to read the instruction manual that comes with your bow. Wicked Ridge also uploaded a how to assemble your Wicked Ridge crossbow on YouTube:

First attach the cable saver to the cables then slide the riser onto the stock and fasten the bolt. After that you can install the quiver-mount and then the foot-stirrup. TenPoint’s 3x multi-line scope is already mounted to the stock!

As mentioned in the #Optics section, the 3x Multi-Line scope is already pre-sighted at 20-yards by TenPoint. It’s best to make sure it’s zeroed in properly, so test it out on a range before you go out for a hunting trip!

Range Test

Handling the Rampage 360 is very comfortable. It’s lightweight and because of the ACUdraw crank-cocking device also perfectly balanced. The grip and foregrip feel comfortable as well and the safety-wings pretty much covers the whole area where you can place your hand, so your hand is protected at all times!

Cocking this crossbow with the ACUdraw crank-cocking device is really easy to do. It reduces the draw weight to only 5 pounds. Using the ACUdraw with the auto-engaging safety feature, you can let go off the handle and the handle will not crank back. This way of cocking is the preferred and safest way to cock this crossbow, but it’s not the most silent method.

By pushing a button at the back of the ACUdraw cocking device, the auto-engaging safety feature will be disabled and you can then also silently crank-cock the Rampage 360! You can NOT let go off the handle during the cocking process though. As this will allow the crank to slip back and you can injure yourself badly.

Wicked Ridge doesn’t include any arrows with the Rampage 360 crossbow package, but we still have the Pro-Lite carbon arrows from TenPoint laying around from other Wicked Ridge and TenPoint crossbow reviews.

Speed-testing with the Pro-Lite carbon arrows, I noticed that it was perfectly sighted in. Shooting the first 2 arrows at a target that was at 20-yards, the second arrow hit the first arrow and it got destroyed. The Rampage 360 came in at 358, 356 and 356 feet per second on our trusted chronograph!

Wicked Ridge did not install any silencing or dampening features on the Rampage 360. It’s highly recommended to eventually install the string dampening system and noise dampening package to reduce the sounds to an absolute minimum.

Using the ACUdraw the safest way possible, makes quite a loud clicking noise. You can practice cocking without the safety features so when you go out hunting, at least you don’t make loud clicking noises.

Storage

Wicked Ridge doesn’t offer a case with the Rampage 360 crossbow package. You can however get on separately from Amazon. The Wicked Soft Crossbow case fits this crossbow perfectly and will allow you to safely transport and store your crossbow.
