Scorpyd decided to release the Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS in the summer of 2019. The Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS is an upgrade from the Deathstalker 400. The specifications have only changed a bit. As you can already tell, the Deathstalker 420FPS can shoot 20 feet per second faster than the Deathstalker 400.
What makes the Deathstalker 420FPS faster than the Deathstalker 400? We were also curious and found out!
It doesn’t look like much of an upgrade, but the Deathstalker 400 was already a great quality crossbow! That’s also why we had to review the Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS.
If the Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS is a bit expensive for you, then you should definitely check out our Wicked Ridge RDX 400 review!

Size and Weight
The Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS is very lightweight Reverse Draw crossbow. Scorpyd achieved this using “One Piece Carbon Technology”. The Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPs only weighs 6.2 lbs. making this one of the most powerful crossbows at a very light weight.
The Deathstalker measures 16.5 inches uncocked and 9.5 inches cocked. The length of this crossbow is 32.5 inches. It’s not the most compact crossbow out there, but it’s still a great crossbow for hunting in a blind or tree-stand.
The power stroke on this crossbow is 17.25 inches, yes it has quite an extended flight deck to obtain the 420FPS speeds. They’ve additionally figured out how to obtain better shooting capability and used better quality accessories and parts to perfect the Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS.
Speed and Arrows
These days, if somebody is looking to purchase a new crossbow, they will look at speeds first. The Scorpyd Deathstalker surely offers a high speed at 420FPS.
It’s important to note that the Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS has only reached speeds of 420FPS with 370 grain bolts. Our crossbow package included 6 Scorpyd Black Carbon Deathstalker Arrows.
The arrows are made from carbon. Carbon is much tougher than aluminum due to their durability strength and weight and these arrows can take a lot of hits and power from shooting.
Usually crossbows with a low of power will wear out if you use a lightweight arrow. So far, the Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS holds really well.
I still would recommend using a heavier arrow. A heavier arrow will absorb a lot of the power from the crossbow and therefore you’re extending the life of your crossbow.
Scope
Scorpyd equipped the Deathstalker 420FPS with a 1.5×5 Hawke Non-Illuminated XB1 Scope. This scope features a precision reticle designed to offer aim points at exact 10 yd. intervals from 20–100yds. It’s a great scope and should easily fulfill your 420FPS speeds!
Assembling and Disassembling
The Deathstalker 420FPS is comes almost completely assembled. Like most bows, you just need to mount the quiver bracket, sling and scope and you’re ready to hunt!
Cocking
Th Deathstalker comes with a Short Sled Cocker or Rope Cocker. You can also use the ACUdraw pro cockng device or the Scorpyd Aero Crank with the Scorpyd Deathstalker 420.
Cocking the crossbow with the ACUdraw pro device makes it really easy to cock the Deathstalker 420FPS. The ACUdraw is fully integrated into the stock and cocking is completely silent. The ACUdraw pro cocking device converts the draw weight to only 8.5 lbs of effort.,
Unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to cock the Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS with Scorpyd’s Aero Crank. Scorpyd’s Aero Crank We cant say much about the Aero Crank, so here’s a description from the brains behind the Aero Crank. Firenock:
The TenPoint AcuDraw is one of the most popular add-on crossbow cranks on the market. There are literally thousands of crossbows currently equipped with an AcuDraw on it; one of our partners, Scorpyd Crossbow, also offers them on their crossbows. After hearing from our customers however, we learned that current owners have some concerns. Learn about how we attempted to resolve those concerns via the AeroCrank-AD (ACAD) below. US Patent 10,421,637.

Shooting and Trigger
The Patented anti-dryfire (ADF) device is unlike any other. Unlike many of the other brands, which actually fire the string a short distance (and then have a lever catch it), the Kempf-TEC ADF actually prevents the latch from releasing the bowstring if there is no arrow present.
Kempf-TEC places the safety bar directly under the seer lever. So long as the safety is on, it is impossible for the latch to release the string. The safety lever is placed just above the pistol grip of the stock, putting it in just the right place to disengage when ready for the shot. So long as the Kempf-TEC latch assembly is properly used, it will function with superb reliability.

The ACUdraw and Aero Crank are extra features on this crossbow that will cost you quite a bit. The ACUdraw Pro cocking device costs $250,- more and the Aero Crank will cost $350,- extra.

Conclusion
Summary of the Scorpyd Deathstalker
Summary
After shooting the Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS, I’m actually quite impressed with its performance. Scorpyd really did a great job with upgrading the Deathstalker. The Scorpyd Deathstalker 420FPS is a very powerful, lightweight, and compact reverse draw crossbow. Scorpyd manufacturers these crossbows in the USA, which is a plus as well. It’s unfortunate that most ads of crossbow manufacturers show insane speeds with a very lightweight arrow that will practically destroy your crossbow within 10 shots. But I’m sure the Deathstalker is very durable and the cams should hold their own power.
What we like
- Slick One-Piece Carbon Frame
- Excellent Trigger
- Super light and Compact
What we don’t like
