New Archery Products DK4

Hypodermic Trypan Mechanical Broadheads from Rage

For 2021, New Archery products bring a 125 grain broadhead to their DK4 family. The NAP DK4 is now available in 100 and 125 grain. These hybrid broadheads are designed for high-velocity crossbows. They are reliable hybrid-mechanicals that feature a one-piece aluminum ferrule and two fixed pivoting1 ¾-inch diameter main blades. The two front-deploying mechanical bleeder blades add a 1 1/8-inch cutting diameter to deal devastating damage to internal organs.

Spitfire spring clip technology holds the main blade in during launch so no o-rings, springs, or collars are needed. When the blades are locked, the 1¾-inch-cut main blades can pivot in the ferrule that hits hard and deflects around very thick bone sections to maintain momentum and deliver true pass-through power. After penetration, the blades automatically re-center.

SEVR Robusto 2.0

SEVR Broadheads Robusto 2.0

The Robusto 2.0 is a new mechanical broadhead from SEVR for 2021 that was designed and built especially for crossbow hunters who want the very best terminal performance, increased FOC and bolt/arrow energy, and prefer the largest possible entry and exit wounds.

The SEVR Robusto 2.0 sports a fluted, one-piece hardened-steel ferrule that is optimized to withstand the punishing demands of fast(400fps+) crossbows. The two .032-inch thick expandable blades have a 2-inch cutting diameter. The blades are made from 420-grade stainless steel and have optimized geometry for better penetration. Blades pivot as needed to keep arrows driving straight through the animal even on steep quartering shots and bone impacts. This increases penetration versus regular rear-deploy non-pivoting broadheads. The Robusto 2.0 features a precision-ground tip.

The Robusto 2.0 utilizes SEVR’s patented rear deploy locking-pivoting blade technology keeps the non-barbed blades fully contained in the ferrule and lock open on impact. Practice lock allows practicing with actual broadheads to verify true point-of-impact without dulling the blades. The SEVR Robusto 2.0 is available in 150-grain in standard 8-32 threads.

Rage Hypodermic Trypan NC

Hypodermic Trypan from Rage - Mechanical Broadheads

For, 2021 Rage decided to upgrade their Hypodermic Trypan, which is a highly accurate 100-grain mechanical broadhead that arrived on the market in 2019. The all-new Hypodermic Trypan NC utilizes a titanium streamlined ferrule for aerodynamic flight, two .039″ thick razor-sharp expandable blades, and a hybrid tip. The blades have a super swept-back blade design which reduces friction, resulting in better penetration.

The old Trypan’s shock collar was poorly designed, the collars easily became brittle in the cold causing them to break in the quiver. They also failed often by expanding one or both blade(s) in the quiver. Rage solved that problem by of course adding no collar(NC) technology to the Hypodermic Trypan for reliable blade retention and deployment. The Trypan-specific, polymer Shock Collar delivers exceptional blade retention and consistently reliable blade deployment for true flight and deadly impact.

The Hypodermic Trypan NC is designed for large game hunting or for hunters with lower poundage bow setups needing maximum penetration. Just like all Rage broadheads, the Hypodermic NX is made right here in the USA. The Hypodermic Trypan NC also comes in a crossbow specific model, which is why I included the broadhead in this list(update on the crossbow specific model coming soon).

All Ti 2.1 ferrules will accept new Ti 2.0 replacement blades. Available in 100 and 125 grains in standard 8-32 threads. Deep Six thread available in 100 grains.
