Killer Instinct released their successor of the Killer Instinct Speed 415 FPS that they released at the end of 2018. The Killer Instinct Speed 425 can shoot arrows at up to 425 feet per second, putting it among the fastest shooting crossbows in the world!

Size, Weight and Feel
Measuring 14.375 inches axle to axle when cocked and just 17.75 inches when un-cocked, the Killer Instinct Speed 425 FPS crossbow is a compact crossbow that really packs a punch!
The Killer Instinct Speed 425 FPS has an adjustable butt stock. At 32 inches to 34.5 inches long, it’s not as small as previous models from the killer instinct bows. Though, its narrowness still gives the capability to utilize the Speed 425 FPS in a small or very tight areas with relative ease.
The Killer Instinct Speed 425 FPS is also pretty lightweight. It only weighs about 7.2 lbs.
Speed and Arrows
As the name already suggests, the Killer Instinct Speed 425 can shoot arrows at up to 425 feet per second. It’s one of most wallet-friendly crossbows that has speeds of over 400 fps.
Killer supplies 3 Premium HYPR arrows with the Speed 425. These 390 grains arrows are 20 inches in length. The arrows are made with “Advanced Carbon Construction”, which creates a spine consistency for better accuracy.
Scope
Killer Crossbows equipped the Instinct Speed 425 FPS with a LUMIX SPEED RING 1.5 – 5 x 32 IR-E Scope. It’s a really good scope that can utilize the speed and accuracy the Killer Instinct Speed 425 FPS has to offer.
The scope features an easy-to-use Speed Ring adjustments that allows the scope to be instantly and perfectly sighted in.
This scope also features an XB100 Reticle designed by Killer Instinct KillZone. It’s optimized for fast target acquisition and precision long-range accuracy out to 100 yards.
Assembling and Disassembling
The Killer Instinct Speed 425 doesn’t come completely assembled. You have to install the crossbow yourself or, if you’re not 100% sure, ask your local crossbow seller for help.
Inside the box is a front end, stock, quiver, quiver bracket, the scope, a foot stirrup and a hardware pack. To assemble your new crossbow, align the cable slide with string protector on the front end into the groove. Then install the front end and riser to the barrel using the included riser bolt with an Allen wrench.
Lock the front end and riser into place with a screw located on the bottom of the riser. Remove the cable slide protector and install the foot stirrup to the riser by sliding it into place. Secure the foot stirrup with a set of screws on the bottom of the riser again.
Mount the scope on top of the rail above the trigger box. Make sure the scope is leveled and tighten the bolts on the bases.
Once you’ve mounted your scope, your Killer Instinct Speed 425 FPS is ready to cock and shoot.

Cocking
Killer provided a rope cocker with the Speed Speed 425. Because of the already low price of the crossbow, you can’t expect TenPoint’s ACUdraw system or Mission’s RSD system, as these systems can cost $200 or more.
Killer Instinct did however create a crank cocking system and costs less than $100 on Amazon.
Even though you have to cock the Killer Instinct Speed 425 FPS with a rope cocker, it’s still fairly easy to cock this crossbow. It has a draw weight of 210 lbs. and a power stroke of 15 inches.
Shooting and Trigger
The Killer Instinct Speed Speed 425 comes with a trigger that breaks at 3.5 lbs. Together with the scope and a really well balanced crossbow, you can shoot tight groups of around 1-2 inches at 100 yards.
The Killer Instinct Speed Speed 425 is a really well made crossbow and it’s also fairly cheap.
Extra Features
Killer also supplied the Killer Speed 425 with some extra features to complete this crossbow. They equipped the bow with a 5 position adjustable AR buttstock, interchangeable pistol rip and adjustable forearm grip for better feel and grip.
Killer also supplies a 5-bolt quiver and three HYPR Bolts and field tips with the Killer Instinct Speed 425. To make this crossbow even more silent, they also equipped the Speed 425 with some String Suppressors.
The Killer Instinct Speed 425 is already a nice crossbow without the extra features and it’s also a very cheap crossbow. But for less than $500, you really can’t go wrong with this crossbow.
