Today we’ll take a look at CenterPoint’s Sniper 370, the classic compound crossbow that was the winner of Outdoor Life Magazine’s 2016 “Great Buy” award. Crosman/CenterPoint is of course known for making excellent BB guns but they also build a crossbow from time to time. Their crossbows are not groundbreaking but they are well built and always nicely priced. We also reviewed the CenterPoint CP400 and the Mercenary 390 this year.
We were excited to get our hands on this classic crossbow from CenterPoint. In this review I will discuss all the main features of the crossbow, we range tested the crossbow extensively and I will recommend the best arrows and broadheads to accompany the Sniper 370 so that you can get optimal results with the crossbow.

Size and Weight
The CenterPoint Sniper 370 is not the most compact compound crossbow out there, it measures a full length of 40 inches with a width of 21.50 inches uncocked and 18.00 inches cocked.
The crossbow has an aluminum and composite frame, making the crossbow durable as well as relatively lightweight for its size. The crossbow tips our scales at 7.90 lbs.
The Sniper 370 is very comfortable to hold, handle, and shoulder. I adjusted the foregrip and buttstock to my pull length for a more comfortable fit. You can use the Sniper 370 from a tree stand or ground blind. The balance of the crossbow is good, but it is a little bit nose heavy.
Design and Construction
The CenterPoint Sniper 370 features quad limbs that are made of compressed fiberglass for extra toughness, making this crossbow even more durable. They are fitted with a precision CNC-machined aluminum cam and rail system with a shoot-through riser.
The crossbow has a fully-adjustable composite buttstock and foregrip to accommodate your desired pull length and shooting style.
Arrows and Speed
With a 185-pound draw weight and a power stroke of 13.50 inches, the Sniper 370 delivers speeds up to 370 fps with 130 FP KE. This is enough to kill the biggest game animal out there like Buffalo or Elk, even Grizzly bears.
The arrows included in the package are good quality carbon arrows that measure a full length of 20 inches. The arrows weigh 275-grain and they come with 100-grain field tips. They are great for target shooting but I wouldn’t hunt with them myself.
The CenterPoint Sniper 370 comes with a side-mount quiver that can hold a total of four arrows.
Scope
The CenterPoint Sniper 370 is delivered with a 4x32mm multi-reticle scope, which is a budget scope that functions quite well.
The scope features crosshair and circle reticles in red and green. Its calibration is set up for -40 yards. It has five levels of brightness that allow you to effectively use it during the day and at night.
It doesn’t have any interesting extra features but the scope is fine considering the price and all other features of the crossbow.
Cocking
The draw weight of 185 pounds could be too much for shorter/smaller framed hunters. Luckily, CenterPoint included a rope cocker in the package. Using the rope cocker reduces the draw weight by 50%, so you’ll only have to pull 92.5 pounds.
The foot stirrup has a good size to it and will fit most hunting boots.
Trigger and Safety Features
The trigger has a lot of creep, the upside of this is that it prevents premature release but the downside is that it makes it difficult to take a shot quickly.
The trigger features an ambidextrous safety switch and anti-dry fire inhibitor that auto engages so you won’t accidentally dry fire the crossbow.
Assembly and Sighting-in
Although the CenterPoint Sniper 370 is easy to assemble, the instructions manual included in the package is quite vague, to say the least. If you are a beginner to the sport and you have never set up a crossbow before, then I would recommend letting someone else with experience properly assemble the crossbow.
Sighting in the scope was really easy and it holds zero indefinitely, it only took me a couple of shots to fine-tune the scope.
Range Test
We speed tested the crossbow with the chronograph we use to speed test all the crossbows we review. With the arrows included in the package, we measured speeds in the range of 250-325 fps and with the Pile Driver arrows, we measured a top speed of 372.6 feet per second.
CenterPoint made sure the Sniper 370 shoots as silently as possible. The crossbow features the innovative “Whisper Silencing System”. This system includes tendon stoppers, limb mufflers, and tendon muffler to dampen the crossbow. Also, the foot stirrup is rubberized, which also reduces vibrations.
The crossbow is highly accurate within a 40-yard range and the scope included in the package functions well. The trigger could be a little bit more crisper, however, it is a good trigger and the safety features do their job nicely.

Arrows & Broadheads
If you want some fine arrows with good heads to accompany the Sniper 370 and use the crossbow optimally then I would recommend buying a six-pack of Carbon express 20-inch PileDrivers(442-grain) and equip them with Montec G5 broadheads(100grain.)

Storage and Transportation

Yes. The CenterPoint Sniper 370 is a great beginner crossbow. They also got the Sniper Elite 385, which is a bit faster and has a better scope.
