The types of food plot plants can be separated into three categories. Perennials, Annuals, and biennials. I will explain each type below.
Annuals
Annuals are bright in color and they have a longer blooming season. These plants grow once per planting. They grow much quicker compared to Perennials. They are the best deer food plot seeds for last-minute plantings.

Perennials are plants that can live for three or more growing seasons while annuals live for only one season. They are much more vulnerable to weeds. Perennials tend to produce less forage in harsher weather. They are great for bulk production in a short time span but they grow much slower than annuals so they are not a good last-minute option.
Biennials
Biennials are plants that grow for two seasons. They don’t bloom until the second year. They are monocarpic, meaning they flower and bear fruit only once. Location
